Studio Academy by MakeMyTechnology · Last updated 24 September 2026
Bixbi Systems Private Limited (“we”, “us”, “our”) operates Studio Academy, an online learning platform by MakeMyTechnology. We respect your privacy and handle your personal data in accordance with India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (DPDP Act), the Information Technology Act, 2000 and applicable rules. This policy explains what we collect, why, and the choices and rights you have. By using Studio Academy, you agree to this policy.
1. Who is responsible for your data
Bixbi Systems Private Limited is the “Data Fiduciary” for the personal data processed on this platform. Our registered address is 102 Eden Park, WS No-1 Golden Square, Vittal Mallaya Road, Bengaluru 560001, India. For any privacy question or request, contact us at info@makemytechnology.com.
2. Information we collect
- Account details from your Google sign-in — your name and email address.
- Profile & enrolment details you provide — phone number, college/branch, and other details you enter when enrolling or subscribing.
- Learning activity — course enrolments, chapter progress, quiz and assignment results, time spent, and certificates issued.
- Payment information — for paid plans, payments are processed by our payment gateway (Razorpay). We receive a payment confirmation, the amount, and the contact details you entered at checkout, and we generate a GST tax invoice. We do not receive or store your full card number, CVV, or UPI PIN — those are handled directly by the gateway.
- Technical data — IP address, device/browser type and basic logs, used to keep the service secure and working.
We collect data directly from you and as you use the platform. We do not knowingly collect special or sensitive categories of data beyond what is described above.
3. How and why we use your data
- To create your account and give you access to courses and track your progress.
- To process payments, issue GST invoices, and provide certificates on completion.
- To provide support and keep the platform safe, secure and reliable.
- To send essential service messages (e.g. payment receipts, certificate emails, request approvals and account notices).
- With your separate, optional consent, to send occasional product and new-course updates.
Our lawful basis is your consent and the performance of our service agreement with you. You may withdraw consent at any time (see “Your rights”).
4. Who we share it with
We do not sell your personal data. We share it only as needed to run the platform, with providers bound to protect it:
- Payment gateway (Razorpay) — to process payments and refunds.
- Email delivery — to send receipts, invoices and certificates.
- Hosting & infrastructure providers — to run and secure the platform.
- Your college — if you joined through a partner college, its administrators can see your enrolment and progress at that college.
- Legal — where required by law, regulation, or to protect our rights and users.
5. Payments & refunds
Paid plans unlock digital course access immediately and are therefore final and non-refundable, except for limited cases (such as a duplicate or failed charge) at our discretion. Please read our Refund & Cancellation Policy for full details.
6. Cookies & browser storage
We use essential cookies and browser storage to keep you signed in and remember basic preferences. These are required for the platform to function.
7. Data retention
We keep your account and learning records for as long as your account is active. Financial records such as GST invoices are retained for the period required by tax and accounting law (generally up to 8 years). When data is no longer needed, we delete or anonymise it. You can ask us to delete your account data, subject to these legal obligations.
8. How we protect your data
We use encryption in transit (HTTPS), access controls, and regular encrypted backups. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your information. If a data breach affecting you occurs, we will act as required by law.
9. Your rights
Under the DPDP Act, 2023 you may:
- Access and correct your personal data (much of it is editable on your Profile page).
- Request a copy or deletion of your data.
- Withdraw consent (including marketing) at any time.
- Nominate another person to exercise your rights in case of death or incapacity.
- Raise a grievance with us, and escalate to the Data Protection Board of India.
To exercise any right, email info@makemytechnology.com. We aim to respond within a reasonable time, and in any case within the timelines required by law.
10. Children
Studio Academy is intended for users aged 18 and above. If you are a minor, please use the platform only with the involvement and verifiable consent of a parent or lawful guardian, as required by the DPDP Act.
11. Grievance Officer
In line with the Information Technology Act, 2000 and the DPDP Act, 2023, you can reach our Grievance Officer for any complaint about the handling of your personal data:
- Grievance Officer, Bixbi Systems Private Limited
- Email: info@makemytechnology.com
- Address: 102 Eden Park, WS No-1 Golden Square, Vittal Mallaya Road, Bengaluru 560001, India
We will acknowledge your complaint and work to resolve it within the timelines required by law.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be notified on the platform, and continued use after an update means you accept the revised policy.
